Destin

Destin is in the panhandle of Florida on the Gulf of Mexico. Destin has miles of sand that is soft and white like sugar. The water is clear and spectacular. The Destin area is our favorite place to go for a family vacation. Destin has the modern conveniences of restaurants, shopping and movie theaters for the evenings and the beach fun for days in the sun. Here is a review of two different condominium complexes that are great options for your family vacation.

The Majestic Sun, Miramar Beach
The Majestic Sun has two towers of condo units. These buildings are located across a street from the beach. Just up the street is a grocery store. In the ground level of the building is a small store with all the things you forget to bring like sunglasses, boogie boards, sunblock as well as many other items. It's so convenient to run in there and get what you need and get back on the beach. The indoor-outdoor pool at the Majestic Sun is fun to enjoy, no matter what the weather is. We rented a three bedroom three bathroom condo. It was very comfortable for our family. We enjoyed the views of the beach from the balcony every day.

The Island Princess, Fort Walton Beach
The Island Princess condos are all in one tower. There is a two level parking garage. It is very convenient to be on the second level, where our condo was located, so we could move our bags and groceries from the car, parked on the second level of the parking garage, to the condo quickly. We didn't have to bother with the elevator at all. The ground level condos do not have a view of the beach because there is a sandy hill in the way. From the second level and up you can see the beach. There is a heated pool and a hot tub between the condos and the beach. A few steps over the platform that crosses the sandy hill and you are on the beach. A grocery store, as well as beach merchandise stores, are within a mile or two. We rented a three bedroom three bathroom condo here as well and loved it. We enjoyed sitting on the balcony overlooking the pool and the beach.
